LIFE EDUCATION BUS PART 2!

We had more fun today at the Life Education bus! We all remembered to sit on our Gluteus Maximus!

We met Tam- the plastic lady, who gave us all sorts of information about our body! She even lit up when we were talking about the different body parts!  We learned about our muscles- how they are soft and hard. Our bones and our heart. Our heart pumps blood around our body, it also helps us love!

Our lungs help breathe in oxygen.
Our Stomach, turns food into soup and into blood.
Our brain is very important! We cant buy another one from the supermarket. So we have to look after it! By wearing a helmet and seatbelt!

We also got to play with some beautiful animals who we educated about what we had learned!
We had such a wonderful time!

Thank you for your help Jess, Harold and Tam!!!!

LIFE EDUCATION BUS!

Today Room 21 were very lucky to head on over to the Life Education Bus that's parked at our school.
We met Jess and Harold the Giraffe who were teaching us about health, safety and well being.
We learnt about what was important to us- staying healthy and keeping clean and that we are all UNIQUE!!!!

We also learned about energy and how our unique energy can be used in different ways!

Brushing our teeth was a top priority and Jess helped us learn a new song to help brush our teeth!
(It's to the tune 'Row row your boat')

If we hum this tune TWICE brushing our top teeth and TWICE on our bottom teth, we will have clean sparkly healthy happy teeth :)

Room 21 had so much fun and can't wait to visit again on Wednesday! Harold the Giraffe is going to sing for us!!!

I AM A BOOGER! TREAT ME WITH RESPECT!!!

This week we have all been learning about boogers and the proper way to dispose of them.
We read the story ' I am a booger treat me with respect'.
We have learnt all about boogers helping us to catch dirt and how they are there to protect us! Which is why they deserve our respect!
We have been learning about the 'Ghost' tissue and what to do when blowing our noses!
1. We get a tissue.
2. After using it we throw it in the bin.
3. We then wash our hands with soap and water.
Room 21 created some great posters about respecting their boogers!
Well done!

MARVELOUS MATHS!

Here we are having fun in maths!
We are using the counters to help us identify the numbers! We are also learning to count backwards from 20 as well as counting on from the highest number!
Arlo, Craig and Pragati have been working very hard all week!

PREDICTING THE STORY!

In shared reading we have been practicing predicting the story by just looking at the picture on the front cover.
By just looking at the pictures, this helps us predict (guess) what might happen in the story.
Predicting can help us sort out the important information and organize our thinking when turning the next page.

We looked at the front page of 'Dad's snore' and predicted the outcome.

The children came up with some great predictions for the story.

PRACTICING PRAGATI

Pragati had been working so hard in hand writing.
We have been learning to write letters that make words.
Pragati has been taking her time to really visualise and practice her letters so that she can write words confidently!
Keep up the great work Pragati!

D.E.A.R TIME

Today's D.E.A.R readers to share about the books they read were DEAR TOBY and DEAR RILEY! Great sharing about the characters!

Woohoo! We are ace at understanding the characters in our books! Go Room 21!

HAZEL CLIMBS THE BEAN TO GREEN

Congratulations to Hazel for reaching her goal of climbing the Reading beanstalk! Hazel wanted to reach Green and she has. Hazel uses cool reading strategies like sounding out and re-reading sentences if they sound wrong.
Hazzie we are so happy for you and proud of you! Keep climbing ★

IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE MUSIC!

We will find out at 8am in the morning if we are going to film our part of the movie on Wednesday.  If the answer is 'yes' we will need to start getting changed into our costumes and have our face painted when we arrive at school.

We need to be ready to film on the field at 9am.

We need adults to help us so please let our teachers know in the morning, or on our blog!

Let's hope we can say tomorrow:  "It's show time!"

We have worked really hard, and are excited!
