While Mrs Manu was working with her Maths groups today, Miss Ellis showed the rest of us how to play some new Maths games and activities.
Our warm up today was using the abacus to skipcount to 100 in 5s and 10s. Then we learnt how to use the Apple Addition cards. They help us learn how to add groups together that add up to 20.
Another new activity was the Add Me/ Subtract Me cards where we solve addition and subtraction problems using the whiteboard markers.
The last game we had was Less Than/More Than. Hazel chose a number and Miss Ellis had to guess if it was less than or more than. All the class could see it was 55 except for Miss Ellis because she was wearing the number on her head!

Have a look at the beanstalk next time you are in our class. We are climbing up!
We started making Values Folders which we will have all through our years at Arahoe. Every time we get a values card because we have been demonstrating Arahoe values in the playground, we can keep it in our folder.
You can also look at our Story Window. We have been working on publishing our stories. This means we conference with our teacher and edit our stories to make them even better!
Our Superstar today was Craig. Craig was chosen because he is kind to others and helps make Room 21 a cool class. Ka pai Craig! Hazel was our ABC reporter, and Sienna and Isabella H are our reporters for tomorrow.
We are so lucky to be doing Picasso Art with Miss Read. She worked with us on Monday and will help us finish our artwork so we can take it home at the end of the year.
Ka pai Room 21! Another great day at school.
Love,
Roald x
