BUSY BEE UPDATE
We had a surprise visitor in Room 21 today- a baby tui! Miss Ellis' cat brought it into her house last night. He seemed okay, just very very hungry.
Miss Ellis fed him some kitten food, popped him in a shoe box with a hot water bottle and let him sleep in the hot water cupboard.
She brought him to school and we all got to watch him being fed.
After school the baby tui was taken to the bird rescue in Green Bay. They thought he was about one week old, and that everyone did a great job looking after him.
Special thanks to Ava, Nathan T and Hazzie for their extra TLC.
♥ Awesome buddy reading today guys! You are really working together like bees in a beehive!
Ka pai!
Love,
Roald

BUSY BEES UPDATE
It is hard to believe it is only Tuesday! We have been very busy.
This week we are taking home Reading books while we are tested to see if we climb the beanstalk.
We have ICEBLOCKS on Wednesday for $1. We will give the money to our teachers and they will pick up the ice blocks from the hall.
Are there any parents to help with this?
Miss Ellis is not always in the class in the morning because she is doing reading with some of us. Mrs Manu is handling order forms etc in the morning. It would be great to have a helper.
Swimming is coming up soon. We will get ready by making sure we have togs, a towel and plastic bag with our names. We will also make sure we can get changed by ourselves.
This week is our last chance to get a new library book. Remember library books tomorrow.
There is a lot going on in our school. We will keep you posted!
Ka kite,
Roald x

I'M THE LEADER OF ROOM 21!
Meet Lily Blue Eyes
The latest edition to Miss Ellis' household is Lily Blue Eyes. As you can see, she is getting on very well with Billy the Kit. Here they are enjoying Halloween. Lily is a Cornish Rex with a curly coat. She is very bossy and her favourite place to sleep is on Miss Ellis' face.

ROOM 21 UPDATE
Here are just a few of the things we have been learning and doing this week:
★ Isabella H shared her exciting news as ABC reporter. We even looked on the Internet at Candy Land because it sounded so interesting...and yummy. During news time we learn about:
-talking to an audience in a clear voice that everyone can hear
-the difference between a question and a statement
-asking interesting questions
-answering questions properly
-listening without interrupting
We also get to know each other better and learn about the world around us.
★In Shared Writing we are learning to think of interesting story ideas. We can do this by using objects from the treasure bag. On Thursday we pulled out a shark, a car without wheels, and a koala bear. We thought of lots of cool stories. Here are some of our ideas:
The koala was driving along the coast and the shark jumped out and ate the koala and the car.
The car could float on water and the koala and the shark had a race.
The koala was fishing from his boat- car, and caught the shark.
Awesome ideas Room 21.
★We have also been looking at changing sounds in words to make new words, as well as adding sounds like 'ing' to change the meaning of words. We do this in Reading and Writing.
★Assembly was lots of fun with Room 18 performing for us and teaching us a new song.
Neeti got up in front of everyone to receive her certificate. Tino pai Neeti!
★Please come and read our published stories in the window. We have been working hard on writing, thinking how we can make them even better with our teacher, and then editing and re-writing. Hard work!
Here's to another great week in Room 21. Keep it up kids!
Love, Roald x
